Natural Gas
Natural gas has become a key part of national energy policies in many IEA countries. It accounts for 22% of the world energy mix and demand is growing, particularly in the electricity sector in OECD countries. Natural gas offers many advantages compared with other fossil fuels: a relatively low greenhouse signature, energy efficiency and ease of use. IEA activities in the field of natural gas cover three major topics: major market trends, reported annually, security of supply, and market reforms.
