Coal
In recognising that coal will continue to play a major role in world energy supply for many decades to come; co-operation is needed between governments, individual corporations and across industries to accelerate improvements in the environmental performance of coal use. Policies are needed to encourage deployment of more efficient, clean coal technologies, particularly those that can deliver significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions through the capture and storage of CO2.On coal-related matters, the IEA takes advice from its Coal Industry Advisory Board.
