Lebanon

Lebanon is a net energy importer, with little hydrocarbon base to speak of, although it hopes that planned exploration efforts in the Mediterranean offshore area will prove successful. It imports many products by sea, or overland from Syria, and is currently awaiting the arrival of natural gas supplies from Syria via a new pipeline which is expected to displace some demand for oil products. Lebanon also hopes to be linked into the Arab gas grid running from Egypt through Jordan and Syria.
