Jordan

Jordan is a net energy importer with very limited resources of its own. From mid-2003 it has been able to import Egyptian gas through the emerging Arab gas grid, which is intended to run from Egypt through Jordan, onto Syria and then potentially into Turkey, where a link-up with the planned Nabucco pipeline has been discussed in order to reach central European markets. Jordan does have quantities of oil shale although efforts to exploit these are in the early stages. There have also been discussions over an oil pipeline from Iraq, although as yet no actions have been taken to implement this.
