The IEA Governing Board supported the creation of an Advisory Committee open to IEA Member countries, as well as non-Member countries, business, business associations, international organisations and other relevant institutions. This Advisory Committee convenes as necessary to provide inputs and ideas for Technology Platform activities.

The Advisory Committee:

• Is consulted on the long-term strategic objectives of the Technology Platform
• Provides advice on operational aspects of the Technology Platform
• Proposes potential Technology Platform activities
• Critically reviews existing and proposed Technology Platform activities to evaluate potential for impact and scale-up
• Advises on sources of funding to support the Technology Platform
• Leads the implementation of Technology Platform activities as appropriate
